Factory One

Made in Germany is coming!

The ground-breaking ceremony was in May 2024.
From 2025, Solar Fabrik will be producing solar modules at Factory One in Hösbach, Aschaffenburg.

“While the established companies are shutting down their production in Germany, we believe in Germany as a location. Solar modules manufactured in Germany have a market and we are tapping into it,” says Solar Fabrik CEO and owner Christian Laibacher.
Solar Fabrik relies on N-TYPE TOPCon and heterojunction technology.
Factory One will have a capacity for 300 megawatts of annual production and will supplement production in China.
“We already have a further 14,000 m2 of commercial space to expand production to up to 1 gigawatt, depending on the market situation,” adds Christian Laibacher.

We rely on production in Germany with the largest possible European share

Solar Fabrik intends to procure more than 50% of the components from European sources.
“As soon as the corresponding availability is available in Europe, we will enter into negotiations. Our aim is to produce solar modules with the largest possible European bill of materials,” says Lukas Staab, COO of Solar Fabrik, explaining the plans further.
“Production in Germany also gives us the flexibility to respond flexibly to customer requests or building regulations,” he adds, explaining the advantages of Factory One in Hösbach.

According to the market research company EUPD, the solar modules sold in the traditional three-stage distribution system via wholesalers are among the most popular brands in Germany.
“With production Made in Germany, we will further strengthen the Solar Fabrik brand and expand our market share,” says Yves Tamborini, Head of Business Development.
“Manufacturing in Germany gives us the opportunity to bring production to life for our dealers and specialist partners. This strengthens our sales strategy and actively supports the pre-sales process.”
Numerous new customers have already been won over by the strategy this year.

Megawatt production in a step-by-step model with shift operation

We have made a conscious decision to build up German production according to a phased plan.
This ensures that the production volume adapts to market demand and that the “Made in Germany” project is on a sound economic footing.

We invest in Germany

Solar Fabrik has its home in Spessart, in northern Bavaria.
We invest in the region and create jobs.
In the first construction phase approx. 6 million and approx. 20 jobs, in the second construction phase approx. 25 million euros for more than 300 jobs.
The company secures the first investment from its own funds.
