Colored PV Modules for the English Garden

With a special reference project in the heart of Munich, Solar Fabrik demonstrates how high-performance photovoltaics and sophisticated architecture can be successfully combined. A photovoltaic system with 198 Mono S4 Halfcut Chroma Orange 420 W solar modules and a total output of 83 kWp was installed on the buildings of the Hirschau beer garden in the English Garden.

The traditional beer garden is located in one of Germany’s most famous parks and places high demands on the harmonious integration of technical systems. On the roofs with their characteristic plain clay tiles, the copper-red Chroma Orange modules blend discreetly into the roofscape while simultaneously enabling high-performance, renewable power generation.

The photovoltaic system covers a PV generator area of 396 m² and is equipped with two inverters. With a specific annual yield of 906 kWh/kWp, it makes an important contribution to the site’s climate-friendly energy supply.

The project impressively shows that modern photovoltaics not only convince through high yields but can also be integrated into architecturally demanding environments. Colored solar modules open up new possibilities for bringing renewable energies into harmony with the design requirements of special buildings and locations.
