In this article, you will find out how Solar Fabrik’s product portfolio is developing and which cells are currently in vogue.

Since 2020, it has been clearly noticeable that the trend is increasingly moving towards larger cells.
In 2021, modules with the M6 wafer and the 166 mm cell – our S3 module series – were strongly represented.
However, the current trend is towards larger wafers, such as the M10 with 182 mm cells and M12 wafers with 210 mm cells.
As a result, development in our S4 series has increased constantly.

Until now, we have only offered the S4 module as a standard half-cut glass-foil module with a white backsheet.
We would therefore now like to transfer the proven module series of the S3 solar module to our S4 module.
This means that in future the S4 series will be available as a Black Edition, Black-White, Glass-Glass and N-Type module with a frame size of 1724 x 1134 x 30/35 mm and a cell size of 182 mm.

The advantage of the S4 module over the S3 module is the higher area efficiency measured in watts per m².
We thus combine increased output with the proven technology of the S3 series.

As the 166 mm cell will no longer be produced in sufficient quantity and quality in the future, it is foreseeable that our S3 series will probably be discontinued at the end of 2022.
