Repowering with roof system integration
In August 2024, our partner SunStrom was able to implement an outstanding repowering project in the north of Dresden. SunStrom installed a roof-integrated PV system there 20 years ago – at that time with its own system that met the standards of 2004. Now the system has been converted to the SD300 roof integration system in combination with our Mono S5 Installer module as part of a comprehensive modernization.
About the project
Why was repowering necessary? Technology has developed enormously over the last two decades. With the new SunStrom SD 300 system and the Solar Fabrik Mono S5 Installer 300W PV module, the performance of the PV system could be significantly increased and optimized for the operator’s own consumption. Module sizes and requirements have changed over the years, which is why SunStrom has developed a flexible system that adapts perfectly to different roofs.
Our Mono S5 power module from the Installer series was used in this project. With its compact dimensions of 1.65 m x 0.88 m, it fits perfectly with the SD 300 system and maximizes the use of the available roof area. The high-performance, black double-glazed module blends seamlessly into the roof cladding thanks to its transparency between the cells and offers an aesthetically pleasing solution that also meets the requirements of listed building regulations.
