Lamspringe Monastery High PV output

A strong project: Together with Tellus Systemtechnik, a PV system for full feed-in was installed in February 2026 – equipped with 220 Mono S4 Trend Full Black 450 W modules. This creates an output of 99 kWp on a 440 m² generator area. The system impressively demonstrates the potential of modern solar modules.

About the project

Between history and the future: sustainable energy was integrated in a special way at Lamspringe Monastery. Together with our partner Tellus Systemtechnik, sustainable energy integration was realized in a special way at Lamspringe Monastery. The photovoltaic system not only impresses with its performance, but also with its careful implementation in a listed environment.

On a generator area of 440 m², 220 of our Mono S4 Trend Full Black 450 W modules ensure full feed-in to the grid. The system is supported by two powerful SMA CORE1 inverters, which ensure reliable operation and a stable feed-in.

The implementation in the historical context of the monastery was particularly exciting. As the building is a listed building, great importance was attached to harmonious integration in advance.

The modules were sampled and combined with a completely black anodized substructure. In order to achieve a harmonious integration into the historical architecture, the modules were arranged in a continuous, clearly rectangular surface without stepping.

There were also special features below the surface: The necessary earthworks for the cable ducts were accompanied by archaeologists – a project in which modern energy technology and history come together.

With a specific annual yield of around 1,060 kWh per installed kilowatt peak, the system impressively demonstrates how heritage conservation and photovoltaics can be successfully combined. At the same time, the project contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions in the long term and underlines the fact that historic buildings can also be part of a sustainable energy future.
